On Sunday, we went to a Lunar New Year party at Cape Cod Super Buffet in West Yarmouth MA. The party is hosted by Good Hope Adoption Services, who was our home study agency and our local contact through our adoption process.
It was great to get a chance to spend some time with other adoptive families.

My wife drew a series of zodiac animal posters for last year's party. This year featured a brand new poster for the Year of the Tiger:

And here's a farewell to the Year of the Ox (heading for Memory Lane!):

There were also traditional red envelopes for good fortune and streamers and paper lanterns.

In addition to lots of yummy food, the party featured a traditional Chinese dance performance.

Here are a group of girls performing an umbrella dance.

Next up was a dance from Mongolia, a bowl dance to celebrate a good harvest.

Much of the dance is performed with a bowl balanced on the dancer's head.

She never dropped it!

A local dojo also held a martial arts demonstration.

There was a traditional dragon parade and an arts and crafts table for the kids. Here's our little guy having fun with some stickers.

We're looking forward to a healthy and happy Year of the Tiger!
